Frequently Asked Questions

We accept bookings online. We do not accept bookings made via social media. You're welcome to just pop by during open hours (please check where we are and when we are open online), and we'll try to fit you in. You might just need to wait a little while. If you would like to book the sauna for a private event, please email us at [email protected] to discuss your requirements and provide the best possible experience.

  • Water - It's important to stay hydrated during and after your sauna session.
  • Two towels - One to sit on and one to dry off after your session.
  • Swimwear - While we have a changing room, space is limited. Please come in your swimwear ready to use the sauna.
  • Suitable footwear - Flip-flops or similar are ideal, as we can't guarantee the terrain at mobile locations.
  • No jewelry - Remove all jewelry before your session, as it can become hot and cause burns.
  • Changing robe or comfy clothes - These can help after your session, especially if you feel cold.
  • Bring minimal personal belongings, as we cannot accept responsibility for them while in the sauna.

For new sauna users, spending 10-15 minutes per session with cooling-down periods in between is recommended. Your first round might be longer, especially if starting with a cold body temperature, as it can take 10-15 minutes to start sweating. To maximize your experience and health benefits, aim for 2-3 rounds with cold plunges in between.

The authentic sauna experience is, of course, naked. However, if you've booked an individual or group session, you'll be sharing the sauna with other guests, so we ask that you wear swimwear throughout. If you've booked the sauna privately and you and your guests prefer a nude session, that's up to you. Please bring towels to sit on, and check with the host to ensure everyone is comfortable.

We recommend arriving 10 minutes before your sauna experience. A short briefing is provided before using the sauna, and changing time is included in your session slot. If you arrive late, your sauna time will be reduced.

A cold water plunge pool is a therapeutic technique where you immerse your body in cold water, such as the sea, a river, or a lake. It`s invigorating and enhances the sauna experience. At selected events, we provide plunge pools that are chilled and filtered to constant temperatures of 5°C, 8°C, and 12°C.

Cold water immersion offers numerous benefits! It reduces inflammation, promotes blood circulation, and helps remove metabolic waste. For athletes, it aids recovery and enhances performance.

Research from a 2020 study titled *"Cold Showers as a Potential Strategy for Metabolic Health"* showed that cold exposure activates brown fat, which burns calories to generate heat, improving metabolic health.

Additionally, a study on *"The Psychological and Physiological Benefits of Winter Swimming"* found that cold water immersion enhances mood, reduces tension, and improves overall well-being by triggering endorphin release and lowering stress hormone cortisol levels. It`s an experience that leaves you feeling amazing and energized!

The duration depends on your tolerance to cold. Even a quick splash of cold water can feel refreshing! During your 50-minute sauna session, you might spend 1020 minutes in the sauna with breaks for cooling down, breathing deeply, and possibly plunging into cold water.

Always listen to your body and avoid staying in the cold or heat for too long to prevent discomfort or adverse effects.

Cold water plunges are generally safe for most healthy individuals. However, if you have any medical conditions, such as Raynaud`s disease or cardiovascular issues, it`s best to consult with a healthcare professional beforehand. Safety always comes first!

If you need to cancel or reschedule your sauna session, please email [email protected] with your booking confirmation details. We require 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling to allow time to re-advertise the session. For event bookings, 96 hours' notice is required. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will not be refunded. If we cancel or reschedule your session, you will be notified and offered a refund.

The sauna is not recommended for children under 13, and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. If you feel dizzy, nauseous, or unwell, exit the sauna immediately.
